The fourth launch by the Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galicia this year opts for chestnuts as the key element
Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galicia de Castañasis a limited edition of 8,000 litres that will go on sale in selected retail outlets in the next few days and, from 28 November, can be bought on the brand’s website.
The creativity and experience of our master brewers has already made its mark with beers like Pimientos de Padrón (Padrón peppers), Percebes da Costa da Morte (Gooseneck barnacles from the Costa da Morte) and Calabaza y Vainilla (pumpkin and vanilla), creating great expectation and selling out in a matter of hours.

Our brand Estrella Galicia once again surprises its consumers with a new beer proposal from its Fábrica de Cervezas project. On this occasion, the key ingredient is the chestnut, a seasonal product that evokes autumn and the “magostos” (Galician festivities celebrating autumn).
This is the fourth Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galicia edition this year, after the Pimientos de Padrón (Padrón peppers), Percebes da Costa da Morte (Costa da Morte gooseneck barnacles) and Calabaza y Vainilla (Pumpkin and vanilla), beers that created a great expectation and sold out in a matter of hours.
The creativity and experience of our master brewers has already made its mark with “recipes from land, sea and air made to surprise,” according to the project slogan. Luis Alvar, Master Brewer at Estrella Galicia, tells us “the star ingredient is an autumn classic – chestnut – which we have introduced into the process in two phases so as to obtain all its essence: during the must making phase and the maturing stage.” He also points out “the result is that both the taste and flavour of the chestnuts is perfectly integrated in the characteristics of our beer style.”
In the next few days, consumers will be able to find Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galicia de Castañas in selected establishments as well as on the brand’s website from 28 November. Eight thousand litres will be made available in 50cl format. Maintaining the craft spirit of each of the previous editions, this sweet and silky edition with pleasant smoky, floral and caramel notes in the mouth is born. Its nutty and chestnut aroma is achieved thanks to the addition of the latter in two different stages of production, in order to intensify its sensory perception.
