Franco Morbidelli pays homage to Brazil alongside Estrella Galicia 0,0
The Italian-Brazilian rider, Franco Morbidelli, was at a press conference this morning in Sao Paulo where he presented a race suit that pays homage to Brazil, and with which he wants to win the next race in the season, the Czech Republic Grand Prix on 6 August.
The latest Moto2 sensation, Franco Morbidelli, attended a press conference with Brazilian press this morning in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Italian-Brazilian spoke about the great period his is experiencing in his category, his leadership of the championship, as well as his future in the motorcycling world championship.
“Everyone knows that I have a link with this country as I feel a little Brazilian. It’s really special for me to be in Brazil, my mother’s country, and to feel fans’ affection. I hope to come back more times, and who knows? It may be to compete in a Grand Prix”, he said.
Morbidelli took advantage of the event to present the race suit with the Brazilian flag that he will wear in the next Moto2 race, on 6 August, in the Czech Republic. “It is my way of paying homage to my Brazilian roots. It looks great. I hope it brings me luck and helps me to win in Brno”, he explained.
After nine races, Franco Morbidelli arrives in Brazil as Moto2 leader after six victories and a 34-point advantage over Thomas Luthi. He stated “the aim is to carry on like this, to walk away with the title at the end of the year, and reach Moto GP 2018, when I will make my debut with Team Estrella Galicia 0,0, in the best spirits”.
Our CEO, Ignacio Rivera, and the biggest name in Brazilian motorcycling, Alex Barros, were also at the press conference. Ignacio Rivera spoke about the importance of having a young revelation like Franco Morbidelli as part of the Estrella Galicia 0,0 motorcycling project. “Estrella Galicia, through its brand 0,0, has a strong commitment to motorcycling, with a pyramid structure that encompasses from the base to MotoGP, with 14 riders participating in this unique project”, he explained. With regards to the performance by the Italian-Brazilian rider, he said “Morbidelli has demonstrated that we’re on the right path”.
Besides sponsoring Franco Morbidelli, Estrella Galicia 0,0 is official sponsor of other great names in motorcycling such as the Spanish riders Marc Márquez, Dani Pedrosa, Tino Rabat and Álex Rins, and the Autralian Jack Miller, all Moto GP riders. Álex Márquez, (Spain), Moto 2 rider, Enea Bastianini, (Italy), and Áron Canet, (Spain) from Moto 3, complete the team. In Brazil, the brand also collaborates with Alex Barros.
Besides speaking to the press, Morbidelli also held a virtual meeting with motorcycling fans on the Estrella Galicia 0,0 social networks.
