Juan Carlos, CD Lugo Estrella Galicia Player of the Month for February
The CD Lugo goalkeeper, Juan Carlos, was the player chosen by the club’s fans on its social networks, becoming the Estrella Galicia Player of the Month for the second consecutive month.
The Estrella Galicia Player of the Month award for the Lugo team was handed over at Café-Bar La Terminal. The goalkeeper of CD Lugo, Juan Carlos Martín, has won the prize for the second consecutive month after being chosen by fans on the club’s social networks. So far, only Iriome González had received the prize twice, but no player had done so twice in a row, like Juan Carlos. The player from La Alcarria won with 51% of the votes, with Vasyl Kravets getting 34% and Jaime Romero, 15%.
Gloria López, the owner of Café-Bar La Terminal, handed the prize to Juan Carlos, at this, the sixth, edition of this initiative that allows the Lugo fans, through a vote on the club’s social media, to choose who they consider to be the best player for that month.
At the event, Gloria López was handed the Estrella Galicia prize for the establishment of the month. Juan Carlos gave her an official team shirt, signed by all the players. Juan Carlos could not hide his joy at having won Estrella Galicia Player of the Month once again, saying that he felt “very happy. It’s always great to have your work recognised, it’s a positive thing, it’s for the whole team, and I’m extremely happy to have been given it.”
The goalkeeper also expressed his gratitude for the warmth the city is showing him this season: “I feel very well loved in Lugo, I am really happy here. When you work in an atmosphere like the one we have, it’s easier for things to work out well.”
Lastly, after his second Estrella Galicia Player of the Month award, he has shown his desire to win more prizes, wishing the same for his teammates: “I hope that my teammates win it too. I am happy to have won it, and I would love to get it many more times, but if it goes to a teammate, that would be fantastic, too.”
