The Cervezas 1906 range adds a new member to the family: “La Pelirroja”
The 1906 family opens its doors to its first Ale beer, a novelty that arrives to enrich this demanding brewing range, aimed at “an immense minority”.
We strengthen our award-winning 1906 range with the Galician Irish Red Ale after the success of thisrecipe in its temporary launch within the Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galicia project.
“La Pelirroja” is fruit of the joint work carried out by our master brewers and that of those from the Irish brewery O’Hara’s, a “fusion beer”: the result of a combination of four malts and four hops that result in a Galician Red Ale with a Celtic soul.
The 1906 family grows with the addition of “La Pelirroja” to its acclaimed range of beers. The Galician Irish Red Ale will become a new member of this team that already consists of 1906 Reserva Especial, 1906 Red Vintage and 1906 Black Coupage and that in recent years has continued to receive accolades in international beer contests.
This launch is a consequence of the great welcome that this beer received during its limited, seasonal edition within part of the Fábrica de Cervezas Estrella Galicia project. The success of the recipe among the experts and consumers has led us to make Galician Irish Red Ale a permanent addition to the range. Once again, we make our 1906 family stronger with high quality proposals that are backed by very positive reviews by followers, as was the case with 1906 Red Vintage and 1906 Black Coupage.
Irish style with Galician accent
The Galician Irish Red Ale “La Pelirroja” is fruit of the joint work carried out by our master brewers and that of those from the Irish brewery O’Hara’s. It is Hijos de Rivera’s first collaborative beer, and also the first high fermentation beer, an Ale that will enrich that demanding beer range, aimed at “an immense minority”.
In its production there have been four varieties of hops and four types of malt: Pale Ale, toasted malt, caramel malt and, for the first time, roasted malted wheat. To this combination of ingredients is added the use of a high fermentation yeast and the application of the dry hopping technique during the maturation of the beer.
Luis Alvar, Hijos de Rivera master brewer, describes “La Pelirroja” as a “beer that maintains the house craft spirit and is characterized by its copper colour and its beige foam, as well as its clean and malty aroma and its toasted flavour with a slight bitter aftertaste that is easy to drink”.
This new 1906 Galician Irish Red Ale is a beer that pairs with seafood and sushi, salads with tasty dressings, or with traditional meat stews. It is also perfect to have with caramel, chocolate or banana based desserts.
With this new addition, we complete our range of Cervezas 1906, which also counts on 1906 Reserva Especial, 1906 Red Vintage and 1906 Black Coupage, a careful selection of the house best made with the same aim as always: to demonstrate our commitment to offering the best proposals to real beer lovers.
