The Mercado de la Cosecha brings the country to the Salón de Gourmets, for the second year running
Our social commitment initiative the Mercado de la Cosecha will be in Madrid with a variety of rural entrepreneurial projects in order to take part, from 24 to 27 of April, in the Salón de Gourmets, one of the most important fairs of the food and drink sector in Europe.
The main aim of the Mercado de la Cosecha at the Salón de Gourmets, is to raise awareness among the attendees about the value of projects that are being carried out in the countryside and the quality of the products on our doorsteps, with certificate of origin, that arise out of initiatives such as those that are part of the Mercado de la Cosecha.
After having been present at other professional forums, such as the Fórum Gastronómico in A Coruña (2017), the Mercado de la Cosecha will participate in the Salón de Gourmets in Madrid, which will hold its 31st edition from 24 to 27 April.
At a stand which will host a range of activities during the four days of the fair, a number of exemplary initiatives from the Galician countryside will have a unique platform from which to make its products known, at an event that will turn Madrid into the centre of European gastronomy, which an estimated 85,000 professional visitors are expected to attend.
The cheeses from Cortes de Muar, Arqueixal dairy products, Amorodo preserves, Bico de Xeado ice creams, Daveiga mariñeira biscuits, the yoghurts by Casa Grande de Xanceda, the eggs from Pazo de Vilane, chestnuts from Naiciña, aromatic plants of Orballo and meat products by Horta de Teodoro, as well as the company’s brands, Maeloc and Ponte da Boga, with its ciders and wines, respectively, will all be in Madrid. All will be there to raise awareness of their products through tastings that will be carried out during the four days.
The activities carried out by the Mercado de la Cosecha at the Salón de Gourmets will begin on Monday, at midday, once the official inauguration has finished, and then a varied activity programme with tastings and presentations will begin, carried out and led by the producers.
The stand will have three different areas, reserved areas for the promotion of the Mercado de la Cosecha projects, with their creators participating at different times during the four days that the fair lasts.
Also, our Ponte da Boga and Maeloc products will have their own programme of tastings and pairings which will also be held at the stand.
Ponte da Boga will hold the tasting “Descubre nuestros vinos” (Discover our wines), on Monday at 5.30pm and on Thursday at 1.30pm. The activities carried out by our wine will be rounded off by a pairing session with products from A Horta de Teodoro, on Tuesday at 1.30pm.
Maeloc will host a pairing session with cheese, “Cheese&Cider”, led by Casa Grande de Xanceda, on Monday at 1.30pm, a cooking workshop with cider vinegar.
#Cookityourway will be held on Tuesday 3:30pm, and to finish off, on Wednesday at 1.30pm, a cider tasting called, “Descubriendo Maeloc” (Discovering Maeloc).
In addition to the activities at the Salon, there will be a themed week in our La Tita Rivera premises in Madrid, with Mercado de la Cosecha products.
