New Estrella Galicia Selección Black lager

This week we propose a new beer: Estrella Galicia Selección Cerveza Negra, a limited edition of which 180,000 litres for both the food industry and the catering sectors have been bottled. The work and research of our master brewers has resulted in the development of a dark lager for the first time in the history of our company.

As on previous occasions, the comments of all our clients on the website (seleccion.estrellagalicia.es) will be considered and, according to the result, this new beer could be added to our product portfolio permanently.  In 2012, our clients’ response to that Estrella Galicia Selección offering was so positive that it led to 1906 Red Vintage becoming a permanent part of our portfolio.

Estrella Galicia Seleccion Cerveza Negra is defined as a dark lager, with 5.7% alcohol content. It’s a bottom fermentation beer made from a blend of four types of malt that results in a dark colour.  In addition, the exclusive mix of Sladek and the characteristic Nugget hops is carried out during the process. Its appearance is of completely black with a thick foam and coffee aroma.

This black larger is presented in tastefully designed 33cl format, has an easy-open top, and is available in packs of four.  The packaging includes a QR code which takes the consumers to the website (seleccion.estrellagalicia.es) where they can leave their opinion about the product and have a say in the company’s final decision.

The recommended drinking temperature is between 6-8ºC. A black lager of this type marries perfectly well with game, roasts and stews as well as chocolate desserts.
